The Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) Card
Items to Bring to the Office of Motor Vehicles to obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit for Driver’s Education:
Minor Students (14 years to 17 years old)
- Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
- Social Security Card (Original)
- Original or Court Certified Custody Papers (if there are any)
- 2 Proofs of Residency (electricity, water, gas bill). Must be from 2 different companies
- Legal Custodial/Domiciliary Parent/Guardian with their Driver’s License or State ID Card
- Approximately $40
Adult Students (18 years old and older)
- Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
- Social Security Card (original)
- Proof of residence (Two proof of residences from 2 different companies)
Cost of Temporary Instruction Permit is approximately $40.
THE TIP CARD IS MANDATORY TO ATTEND CLASS AND TO DRIVE THE 8 HOURS OF BEHIND-THE-WHEEL DRIVER TRAINING.
