The Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) Card

Items to Bring to the Office of Motor Vehicles to obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit for Driver’s Education:

Minor Students (14 years to 17 years old)
  • Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
  • Social Security Card (Original)
  • Original or Court Certified Custody Papers (if there are any)
  • 2 Proofs of Residency (electricity, water, gas bill).  Must be from 2 different companies
  • Legal Custodial/Domiciliary Parent/Guardian with their Driver’s License or State ID Card
  • Approximately $40
Adult Students (18 years old and older)
  • Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
  • Social Security Card (original)
  • Proof of residence (Two proof of residences from 2 different companies)

 Cost of Temporary Instruction Permit is  approximately $40.

THE TIP CARD IS MANDATORY TO ATTEND CLASS AND TO DRIVE THE 8 HOURS OF BEHIND-THE-WHEEL DRIVER TRAINING.
